April 24th was a perfect sunny day to take a group of young hunters on a wild hog hunt. Most of us did forget the sunscreen and it did show the next day. But, that did not seem to bother anyone considering what was in store for us, in the next few hours. We selected four lucky youth hunters at our 2010 Banquet just a few weeks earlier. The group met in Castledale, Utah just south of Price, Utah to hunt the large Feral Hogs in which Garret Hunting Services specializes. Our main guide, Owen Garret explained the plan of attack in addition to a short briefing on firearms safety and rifle sighting. Afterwards, our group of youth hunters, SCI Board members, guides, family and friends were excited and anxious to begin our hunt. scipost1 What a nice warm day which, got even warmer as the day and hunt progressed. And what a walk, we ended up on top of the cliffs and mountain ranges to get a better angle and viewing range in our efforts to spot-and-stalk the animals. By 1:00PM, all four hunters had their trophies on the ground, including three large hogs in the 300+ pound range and one spectacular Spanish Goat.       Congratulations to our 2010 Youth Hunters, Kelsey Kunkel, Jon Johnson, Spencer Cartwright and Cody Mastronardi. Thank you to our SCI Utah supporters and Owen Garret for making this project possible.
