For as long as I can remember Archery has been a huge part of my life, I have grown up in Hunting camps all over Australia where my family owned and operate R & R Outfitters Australia, servicing the whole South Pacific in Guided hunting safaris.

My very first bow was a Red Zone recurve, I think I was only 2 or 3 years old and the bow was longer than me, I carried it everywhere. I’ve Just turned 15 and I have been fortunate enough to have had a number of different bows both recurve and compound, Always living in a hunter-dream environment from the High Country in the south to the top end in the Northern Territory, every moment I get I’m either out with my older brother Caleb or walking the hills alone in search of my next Trophy.

Before I continue I would like to give a huge shout-out to the Salt Lake Chapter of SCI and Hoyt and Thank you for my new Hoyt Alpha X . Having just received it before Christmas.

I have just finished fine-tuning my Alpha X, set up at 60lb, running Nexus 350 spine shafts with the New 150-grain NIX Broadheads.

This is my preferred setup for Deer, Goats, and pigs and what I’ll be running for my upcoming trip in May to New Zealand hunting Red Stags and Bull Tahr. This time of year, my family and I live and work in the New England ranges in preparation for the Rut, so I have plenty of opportunity to get in and hunt on my own.

My first Hunt with my new Alpha X I set out in search of a Trophy Billy goat that I have seen a number of times but just haven’t been able to get a pin on him. He’s usually with a bunch of Nannies which always makes the stalk more challenging If this has taught me anything it is perseverance and determination to get up and try again tomorrow.
